You can't top ending girls night out with drinks by the fire pit at The English Inn. Our group had a round (or two for some) here after dinner elsewhere. This was the last Saturday in September and the outside was packed but for the one table we got. I asked for a spiked hot chocolate which I did not see on a menu. Server brought everyone their round and nothing for me. I had to ask about the hot chocolate and by the time it came back some were ready for their second round - which ended up being adult hot chocolate! Service we assume was overwhelmed as it was a packed house and we didn't mind as we were looking to chill. Managing distance from the fire one could be either warmed on one side or totally cold sitting with ones back against the backrest. Blankets were offered when the folks at the table next to use left. Sharing gives me the ick a bit but lets hope these are at least laundered each night. We all loved it and would go back for drinks and desserts outside anytime.

The seating outside has gorgeous landscape views and each woman gets a rode at dinner, which is fun and sweet. I love the fire tables outside and the optional blankets for when it's a chilly evening. I've always had great service at The English Inn. The staff is very personable and I'm always greeted right away. Their homemade cherry bacon dressing is very good. The filet was good but the carrots and au gratin potatoes were not. The au gratin potatoes tasted like they came out of a box and were microwaved. The carrots also tasted like they were microwaved and they were served warm but cold in the center. I was also surprised to see that blue cheese crumbles on a salad were an additional $4.00! I definitely recommend The English Inn for a one-of-a-kind special date night but I do think their sides could use improvement and I wish they had more vegetable options.

Good times - Vast super club selection, broad menu, great food and happy well trained service

Exceptional service, excellent food and incredible atmosphere. Don't let the decor fool you- this place is a fine dining experience that will impress your tastebuds and delight your senses! If the weather permits- sitting outside is a must. The wait staff is attractive and eager to please. The food... I don't think I can properly convey how delicious the food was. Overall and surprisingly fine dining experience in a beautiful setting that my wife and I enjoyed immensely! We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed a delicious dinner on a Tuesday night. We showed up and were seated immediately. We had great service. They did run out of prime rib so come early. I had the beef Wellington that was delicious. I started with the spinach salad with the homemade warm bacon dressing. For a side, I had the baked potato. The only vegetable was asparagus and it cost $7.95 in place of a potato. I think more veggie options would be nice. The atmosphere is classic with the dark wood and dark lighting. There is a bar. There is outdoor seating. It's the largest restaurant in Door County.
